They no longer need to pretend there's no corruption:

As Comcast and Time Warner Cable await the FCC’s approval of their merger, the two companies collectively donated $132,000 to a dinner honoring one of the agency’s commissioners.

The honoree, Commissioner Mignon Clyburn, appointed to the position by President Obama in 2009, is the daughter of Rep. Jim Clyburn of South Carolina.
