Wealth Psychologists

posted by gyma

Pity the poor wealthy. They are so traumatized by all their money that banks are now employing wealth psychologists to help them cope.

[....] John Warnick, a consultant who trains U.S. Bank financial advisers in positive psychology and works independently with families and financial professionals, avoids the awkward term "wealthy" altogether. "I choose to call them legacy families," he says.

Old money worries about whether trust funds will ruin their kids and new money, or those suffering from Sudden Wealth Syndrome, suffer from alienation, denial, guilt, and the inability to control their spending.

I wonder how much a wealth psychologist charges per hour?
