Something Different

It's only Monday, yet it feels like a break from politics is needed.  This is an unusual image, primarily for the composition.


 

Cathy Freeman 

This 'image' of Cathy Freeman was done for the Australian show, "Who Do You Think You Are?"  This is a show based on following a celebrity trace his/her roots. [Freeman is an Olympic sprinter.]

When I first saw the image I thought it was comprised of worms or something similar.  If you look closely, you'll see it is actually made up of nude bodies, suggesting that individuals are the sum of all ancestors.

I'm curious about the process, but couldn't discover much information.  What I did find was that photographer, Andreas Smetana, took a series of studio photos and then stitched them together into the final image.
